The 63-year-old Wang Jianguo travels between his home and the Huichun Tower of the Ganzhou People's Hospital every day to take care of his 104-year-old father Wang Chengdeng. He is familiar with his father's taste, and sometimes makes braised pork, which is Wang Chengdeng's favorite. His father's ear was seriously injured. If a visitor visits, Wang Jianguo will also act as a "message tube" for his father.
More than 190 kilometers north. One of the things that Zeng Guangchang, 104, enjoyed at the Ji'an Service Station of Ganzhou Gansu Retreat was that his son Zeng Tieniu was pushing him in a wheelchair for a walk. Despite the inconvenience of his legs and feet, Zeng Guangchang was mentally stunned and had a good talk front. Every evening, he had dinner with his son-in-law, talked about family affairs, talked about national affairs, and was happy.
Ji'an was further north, and Jiujiang City had a rest place. On December 10, Du Jiangyuan got up as early as usual, cooked a small pot of miscellaneous cereal porridge, steamed a few sweet potatoes, and then served one or two plates of side dishes to 104-year-old father Du Hongjian ...
This is the daily life of three 104-year-old Red Army soldiers. They are the happy old lives of Wang Chengdeng, Zeng Guangchang and Du Hongjian.
Approaching the three hundred-year-old Red Army, we found that although they are not living in the same place now, they have a lot in common: healthy longevity, full of children and grandchildren, a Red Army tradition, a common folk style, Commoner sees the true nature, a cane for the rest of his life. "
-"Never Sorry for a Dead Comrade"
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Zeng Guangchang successively served as the Minister of Health of the Eleventh, Fourteenth and Fourteenth Divisions, and the Sixteenth Division. He was also the Chief of the Medical and Political Section of the Ministry of Public Security, Logistics and Health. Vice President of the Sixth Field Hospital of the Jinan Military Region, retired in 1968.
Despite being a leading cadre, in the memory of his eldest son, Zeng Tiejun, his father never engaged in privileges. "When the dean of the nursing home served, the army arranged a small stove for him, which was rejected by him."
The hands of time roll back to 1935. On the long march, Zeng Guangchang followed the Red Army's main force to reach Ningxia Guyuan, but was unable to continue marching due to injuries, so he had to heal in a local villager. After healing, he begged all the way to find troops, exhausted his pain, and finally returned to the revolutionary ranks.
Twenty-two years later, Zeng Guangchang, the dean of the nursing home, received a packet of ginseng from his subordinates. "Get it back!" He turned away the giver. "I'm used to living a hard life and can't enjoy this thing!"
Just as the boy's eldest son, Zeng Tiejun, and his brother and sister whispered privately, "Some cadres and children have a car to pick up and we don't have. The army is equipped with a small stove, and he doesn't want to. Don't consider ourselves or us!"
Over time, these words reached Zeng Guangchang's ears. He brought his children together and tried to tell them about the hardships of the Red Army. "Here is politics again!" The children pursed.
"Don't think that you are a child of an old cadre, you can specialize!" Zeng Guangchang raised the volume. "I crawled out of the dead, I will never be sorry for those dead comrades!"
After ups and downs, Zeng Guangchang, who came all the way from the revolutionary war, is still the Zeng Guangchang. The simple and pragmatic nature, the strict observance of the military discipline, and the original intention of serving the people, this old man has remained strong forever and has never changed.
"Ten years ago, when Zeng's body was tough, he went out on his own walking with a cane. He proposed to send a car to pick him up and he refused every time, saying that he would not burden the organization. A few years ago, Zeng Laohe and the old people in the house will meet to go out to buy food. "Zeng Lao's medic doctor Wang Sheng said that the revolutionary tradition of Zeng Lao also impressed the staff of the service station.
The story of not turning on the "small stove" and not taking the bus is also engraved in the memory of Du Hongjian.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Du Hongjian successively served as political commissar of the Logistics Department of the Southern Xinjiang Military Region, director and political commissar of the Production Management Division of the Southern Xinjiang Military Region, and political commissar of the First Division of Agricultural Construction of the Xinjiang Military Region Production and Construction Corps.
"Dad was in the third-tier factory in Xinjiang when the cafeteria opened a small stove for him, but he poured the food back to the large stove and ate the cafeteria with his comrades." Du Hongjian's eldest son Du Jiangyuan recalled.
After retirement, Du Lao always maintained the character of an old Red Army and never touched the public a little cheaper. In the impression of Teng Ronghua, the secretary of the Jiuxian Gansu Institute, Du Lao usually went out without calling a bus. Except occasionally going to the hospital or participating in important activities, the old man rarely had trouble organizing the car. Du Hongjian often mourns his children, and ca n’t just waste it because he has the conditions.
-"Personal growth and progress must be achieved by oneself, and no demands or troubles can be placed on the organization"
Ordinary jobs are the common portrayal of most children of the three old Red Army.
Wang Jianguo is Wang Chengdeng's youngest son. Today, he accompanies his father and takes care of his father all the year round. When he was young, Wang Jianguo was transferred to his hometown, Futian Town, Ji'an City, and worked as a farmer. In 1975, he took over his mother's editor and went to work in Ganzhou Department Store. After being laid off, he and his second brother, who also suffered from a restructuring of the unit, drove a taxi in partnership. Only a few years ago, he put down the steering wheel and took care of his father.
"We all rely on ourselves, even if the laid-off father does not help find someone, when we were young, we all complained." Wang Jianguo said.
Similar emotions in Zeng Tiejun engraved a clear life track.
After graduating from high school in 1969, Zeng Tiejun just caught up with the educated youth and went down to the countryside. He wanted to stay in the city, but he bumped his nose in front of his father. "He must have me go to the countryside. As soon as I was angry, I went back to my hometown as an educated youth in Taiping Village, Chongxian Town, Xingguo County, and planted seedlings, plowed fields, picked dung, and chopped firewood with the farmers. I didn't go home for the New Year, "Zeng Tiejun recalled.
In 1973, Ganzhou Tungsten Refining Plant recruited workers. Zeng Tiejun did not discuss with his family and signed up as a furnace worker. Later, Zeng Guangchang inquired that the boss was in Ganzhou, and ran from Ji'an to Ganzhou to see Zeng Tiejun. In the early 1980s, Zeng Tiejun was transferred from Xingguo County to Ji'an. He joined the universal joint factory as a worker and did heat treatment. Zeng Tiejun again asked his father if he could change units. "He still refused, saying that you work hard and work hard." Zeng Tiejun said.
In 1978, Du Hongjian was appointed Deputy Minister of the Organization Department of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is said that they are in charge of cadres, but Du Hongjian's children and relatives have not been given special care.
When eldest son Du Jiangyuan joined the work, he worked as a worker in a third-line factory in the depths of Tianshan, Xinjiang, and closed the mountain in heavy snow in winter, unable to eat vegetables for several months. "I wanted to change to a better job at that time, but my father was unmoved." In 1975, in order to take care of his mother, Du Jiangyuan returned to a printing factory in Nanchang to work as a worker. In 1977, he was transferred to the ship management office of the Jiujiang Bridge until 1998. Retreating early in the job, all life is an ordinary employee, life is simple.
"Personal growth and progress must be fought for by oneself. You can't make demands on the organization or make trouble." Du Lao told reporters that his five children depend on themselves for their work and life, and they really did not help them. Du Lao's uncorrupted family style has always been consistent. Today, Du's juniors, although mostly working in ordinary positions, have achieved good results.
"Sometimes I will blame my father. When I was an official, I did n’t use my power to find a good job for my children. But sometimes I thought that my father was an old Red Army, and he was full of the people. It was for the people's welfare, not for the family. Specialize. "Du Jiangyuan said, thinking of it, he was relieved.
-"No courage in work, no comparison in life"
"A glance at the former sages and their homes has resulted in diligence, frugality, and extravagance." The relationship between hardship and simplicity and the fate of the homes and nations has been well confirmed by the old Red Army.
Du Jiangyuan has been caring for his father's diet for many years, and is no longer familiar with his father's habits. "His life is extremely simple. He is most afraid of waste. He ca n’t let me throw away a meal that ca n’t be eaten. The old furniture and home appliances in the house will never be changed as long as they can be used. There is an old color TV at home. He refused to change in the next year. Later, after watching the military parade, he agreed to change to a new one. "In Du Jiangyuan's view, his father's frugality sometimes reached a harsh level.
Gan Renrong, the second daughter of General Gan Zuchang, worked in Jiujiang until his retirement. In the 1990s, she heard that Jiujiang Gansu also had an old Red Army retired in Xinjiang, and found Du Hongjian the first time. Today, she often visits Du Lao.
"When I first saw Du Lao, when I saw his costume, it was just like my father, an ordinary little old man in the countryside, very simple. This generation has struggled for a lifetime, these are engraved in their bone marrow, No matter how good the current living conditions are, they will never forget the hard and simple style. "Gan Renrong told reporters that the old military uniform often worn by Du Lao today was also worn in Xinjiang at that time, and has been for decades now.
"Five of our brothers and sisters are always 'Red Second Generation'. Although we are in various places, when we go out, people say that we are more ordinary than ordinary people. This may be the family style left to us by our father. Affect us. "Du Jiangyuan said.
In previous years, Du Hongjian was quite worried when he saw some bad phenomena in the society. In order for the younger generation to be able to be a correct person all the time, he ignores his seniority, and uses every opportunity to hold family meetings for his children, and even holds "teleconferences": "I have worked for the party all my life, and I have never taken advantage of the public. You must also be a man and person A public heart, bright and clear, you cannot go the wrong way in your life! "
"I don't have any legacy to give you brothers and sisters, but there is a saying: Although the conditions are now superior, you cannot cope with ease in your work, you can't compare luxury in your life, and you must strive to be a spiritually rich person." The father most often spoke to their brothers and sisters.
It's hard to think of a porridge and a meal.
Wang Chengdeng's clothes will always be old military uniforms. Once, grandson Wang Kan threw the paper torn from the calendar into a trash can. When Wang Lao saw it, he severely stopped and said that the calendar paper could also be reused.
After years of hardship, Wang Chengdeng not only maintained a hard and simple style, but also often taught his children and grandchildren not to lose this fine tradition. In the Wang family, the usual washing and washing water is not immediately drained, but stored in a special bucket for flushing toilets and other purposes. This habit has persisted for decades.
The habit of Wang Lao also deeply affected the medical staff who took care of him in Huichun Tower.
"When Wang's legs and feet were okay a few years ago, as soon as it dawned, he would walk to the nurse's station, knock on our table with a cane, and point at the lights, meaning to turn off the lights in the corridor; seeing newspapers littering, He said that he should collect it, and if he accumulated it, he could sell some money and buy some fruit for the nurses ... "Speaking of the story of Wang Laojian's simplicity and economy, Liu Yanxiu, deputy head nurse of the Department of Geriatrics, Ganzhou People's Hospital was impressed.
In the view of Teng Ronghua, the secretary of the Jiuxian Gansu Institute, Du Hongjian embodies the common characteristics of the old Red Army: high official position is not for personal gain, and the credit is not obvious; a cloth robe sees the true nature, and a cane accompanies the rest of his life.
-"Father teaches us to be honest and to be diligent in doing things"
Although they do not help their children find work, in the old Red Army families, there are a lot of stringent disciplines.
In 1978, the spring breeze of reform and opening up swept the north and the south. As a worker, Zeng Tiejun came up with the idea of doing business in the sea. Unexpectedly, Zeng Guangchang shook his head again. "He said that the working class is the greatest and it is still necessary to be a good worker." Zeng Tiejun said that the factory he worked in closed in 1999, and his younger brother Zeng Tieniu was discharged from the army in the 1990s to work in the local material bureau. Got post. Fortunately, the two younger sisters became soldiers and stayed in Beijing and Fujian on their own struggles.
"He has used our experience of being a Red Army and begging for meals to teach us lessons, to keep us honest, to do business honestly, to be a farmer to be a farmer, and to be a worker." Zeng Tiejun bluntly said, at that time, the children were private. I feel a little bit too much about my father's behavior below.
Over half a century has passed by. "Now when I look back, I realize that my father taught us to be honest, to be diligent and to be useful throughout my life. When I work in the factory, I am also an advanced element every year." Zeng Tiejun told reporters To this day, I also understand my father.
Wang Chengdeng's eldest son, Wang Lei, is now a staff member of the Academic Affairs Office of Ganzhou Radio and Television University. Because of a choice, 18 years ago, he passed by with a full-time undergraduate education.
In the summer of 2001, Wang Lei received two notices at the same time, one was an admission notice from Beijing Institute of Information Technology (now Beijing Information Science and Technology University), and the other was a notice of enlistment. "I was hesitant at the time. On the one hand, I wanted to go to college. On the other hand, I was influenced by my grandfather. It was also my dream to join the army. My parents wanted me to go to college, but in the end, I listened to my grandfather and became a soldier." ——In the Wang family, Wang Chengdeng is a veritable parent.
"To be honest, I still have a bit of regret to participate in the job, because I worked in college and found that the first degree is still very important. Although I later obtained an undergraduate diploma through continuing education, it is not the first degree, after all, it will have some impact. At the same time, Wang Lei admits that his experience in the army has benefited him greatly, and he has always been proud of it. "I thank Grandpa."
-"Everyone should carry forward the fine traditions of the Red Army and rely on you in the future"
Since retiring from the Commerce Department of Guizhou Province in 1972 and returning to Ganzhou, Wang Chengdeng's footprint has spread across 18 counties (cities, districts) in southern Jiangxi. He joined the army, entered the enterprise, and entered the academy. He used himself as a teaching material and gave reports regardless of hard work. He hopes to inspire more young people and to carry forward the Long March spirit by telling the personal history of his revolution.
Wang Chengdeng likens his reporting journey to the "new long march" in his life. "When he talks about excitement, he will wave his fist. When it comes to emotion, he will have tears in his eyes." Wang Jianguo said.
Not only was he a propaganda advocate for the Long March, Wang Chengdeng also maintained the tradition of a revolutionary soldier.
Also in 1972, the Ganzhou Prefectural Party Committee at that time uniformly built 42 first-floor houses with courtyards for retired cadres in Ganzhou City, and Wang Chengdeng lived in the fifth building. From the 1970s to the early 1990s, every morning at 5:30 in the morning, Wang Chengdeng would get up on time, go out with a broom and sweep the floor. After sweeping the front yard of the house, he would sweep the neighbors away.
"Brush, brush, every morning we wake up in the sound of sweeping outside the house. As long as it doesn't thunder and rain, no matter spring, summer, autumn, winter, or cold weather, he insists on sweeping every day, sweeping for more than ten years, until later It can't be moved. "In Wang Jianguo's view, his father's stringent requirements on his revolutionary soldiers naturally infected future generations.
Once, Wang Lei was late for work and was known by Wang Chengdeng. Wang Lao found the school where Wang Lei was alone, and asked the school leaders to criticize Sun Tzu. Although this requirement is almost "harsh", the descendants of the Wang family have maintained the tradition and style of the soldiers.
"If you want to ask what is the style of my family? All that the old man does is my style." Wang Jianguo said.
At the Du family, Du Hongjian used his Jiujiang Gansu on the spot as a revolutionary traditional education classroom.
In April this year, Du Hongjian's hometown, the village cadres of Shuangkeng Village, Shuinan Town, Jishui County, and some of his relatives and friends came to Jiujiang Ganxiu to visit Du Lao. When he saw his hometown, Du Lao seemed very excited and talked with everyone in his native language. Relatives and friends told him that in the past few years, his hometown had opened a cement road, engaged in the construction of a new countryside, and the expressway had reached his door. Du Lao was very happy after hearing this.
"The victory that the Communist Party has led the people of the country is hard-won. It is necessary to follow the party closely, not forget the original intention, and remember the mission. To develop the economy, the Party Central Committee regards the rural revitalization as a national strategy. There is great hope and potential for rural development. The cadres and the masses must seize the great opportunity to build their hometown better. "When leaving, Du Hongjian repeatedly told him.
Nowadays, despite the inconvenience of movement, Du Lao will take the trouble to tell revolutionary stories to his juniors when he comes to tell his descendants that he is grateful, multi-secretary, practical, firm ideals and convictions, and take the long march of the new era.
In March 2014, at the 100th birthday symposium organized for Zeng Guangchang by the Ji'an Army Division, Zeng Lao stood up tremblingly and said to the guests present: "I feel so ashamed that everyone came to my birthday today. "I don't contribute much to the country or the people. If I say, it is just a drop of water in the sea."
Zeng Guangchang then turned his attention to the young people present: "Now that our country is not rich, everyone should carry forward the fine traditions of the Red Army and build the country and the army stronger. In the future, it is up to you!"
